Description: Chili in Vietnam is called by Bird’s eye chili, bird’s chili. The bird’s eye chili plant is a perennial with small, tapering fruits, often two or three, at a nod. The fruits are very pungent; it measures around 100,000–225,000 Scoville units. Chilies are usually red; some are yellow, purple or black. Flowers are white green or white gold. Large areas of chili are grown in the Mekong Delta. This type of chili is used as a condiment, very popular in Southeast Asian cuisine. In Vietnamese cuisine, chili is used in soups, salads, and fried dishes. They are also served with dipping sauces such as fish sauce, soy sauce, saltor non-spices.
